Atletico Madrid produced a strong 2022-23 campaign under Diego Simeone, finishing third in La Liga with 77 points from 23 wins, 8 draws and 7 losses, scoring 70 goals across the season.

The result secured a return to the Champions League places after a difficult prior campaign, with the club relying on defensive solidity and a balanced squad to hold off rivals in a tightly contested top half of the table throughout the second half of the season.
